glomerate Shandong Landbridge Group is making a break into the large-tanker sector by ploughing almost $280m into a groundbreaking order for VLCCs. Market sources says believe that Landbridge will use the newbuildings to carry its own cargoes since it also controls crude-oil storage facilities. Landbridge is said to be paying around $93m per ship and is slated to take delivery of the VLCCs in 2016.
