CNPC Ramps Up Central Asia Pipeline Gas Imports

China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) announced Wednesday that it has accelerated pipeline imports of natural gas from Central Asia since the end of 2009. The company did not provide precise details in the announcement, but noted that Central Asia has supplied an average of 55 million cubic meters (MMcm) per day to China since the start of this winter. CNPC is by far China's largest purchaser of Central Asian Gas.
