Iraq Awards China Petroleum $548m Halfaya Contract

Iraq's oil ministry has awarded China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corp (CPECC) a service contract to develop the country's Halfaya oilfield, Reuters has reported. Under the terms of the $547.95m deal, CPECC is to handle engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning work at the oilfield, which is forecast to produce 535,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) in 2017.
