Chinese firm Zhejiang Shaoxing Sanjin Petrochemical has selected Honeywell's UOP to provide key technology to produce propylene in China.
Honeywell's UOP will provide its UOP C3 Oleflex process technology to the new propane dehydrogenation unit , which is expected to start up in 2013 to produce 450,000 metric tons propylene annually.
UOP will also provide engineering design, catalysts, adsorbents, equipment, staff training and technical service for the project.
Oleflex process will make use of catalytic dehydrogenation to convert propane to propylene and will provide lowest cash cost of production and the highest return on investment.
These outcomes are enabled by low operating and capital costs, high propylene yield and reliability, and maximum operating flexibility.
