Sinopec to Raise Ethylene Output by 0.1% in 2012

Sinopec is planning to produce 9.90m tonnes of ethylene in 2012, up by 0.1% from the previous year, the company said in its annual report.

The growth rate slowed down from a rise of 9.2% in 2011.

The company is not expected to bring any new crackers online for ethylene production this year.

Sinopec started operation of two 1m tonne/year crackers for ethylene production in 2010.
