China‘s Sinopec H1 Refinery Runs up 1.1% On Year to 109.76 Mil Mt

China's state-owned Sinopec said Friday that its total refinery throughput in the first half of the year totaled 109.76 million mt (4.43 million b/d), up 1.1% year on year.

Sinopec, Asia's largest refiner, said its gasoline output in the January-June period rose 7.9% year on year to 19.61 million mt while gasoil production edged up 1.7% to 39.1 million mt.

Jet/kerosene output was up 7% year on year to 7.25 million mt, it said in the release of its operational statistics for the period.

Total domestic sales of oil products rose 2.6% to 77 million mt.

In the upstream, the company's natural gas production rose 14.2% year on year in H1 to 289.93 Bcf. Crude oil production rose 4.3% year on year to 163.09 million barrels, with domestic volumes rising 1.2% to 151.96 million barrels.

Its overseas crude production surged 82.5% to 11.1 million barrels.

Sinopec's sole foreign project -- all other overseas projects are held by the parent -- is a 27.5% stake in the Greater Plutonio project in Block 18 offshore Angola. The BP-operated project faced production problems last year and was shut for maintenance in April, after production had slid from its usual 180,000 b/d to just half of that volume. It restarted in July. (platts.com, Edited by Topco)
