The Foundation Treatment Works contracted by Shenyang General Institute of Geotechnical Investigation (SIGI) for the Heavy Crude Oil Processing Project (with an annual output of 20 million tons) of Sino-Venezuela Guangdong Petrochemical Company was formally commenced on June 7, 2013.
The above-mentioned Oil Refinery Project is jointly invested by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA) of Venezuela. The project site is located in the Grand South Sea International Petrochemical Industrial Park in Jieyang (Huilai) of Guangdong Province. As per the overall planning, a World-class Super-large Petrochemical Base will be built up, which is supported by ethylene manufacturing facilities (with output of over million tons per annum), and the annual oil refinery capacity will be 20 million tons. The contract bagged by SIGI mainly covers the foundation treatment works. For the foundation works of the engineering maintenance station, which is commenced as the very first part, the auger boring technology is employed, and the CFG pile (cement-flyash-gravel pile) is utilized.
As a part of the national energy security strategy, the construction of this project will play an essential role in promoting the leap-forward economic and social development in Jieyang and even in the east of Guangdong Province. Moreover it is of great strategic significance for deepening the international energy cooperation of China, increasing the domestic supply volume of petroleum products, as well as optimizing and improving the oil refinery industry layout in China.
