China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) put a lubricant project into production in Singapore on July 11.
This is the first directly-invested overseas project of Sinopec Group's refining business.
The Singapore plant adopts 90% of Sinopec Group's intellectual property right and manufactures high-end lubricant to supply the demand from Asia-Pacific region, said general manager of Sinopec Lubricant (Singapore) Pte., Ltd.
The project mentioned before was started in July 2011 and covers about 60 mu (one mu equals to about 666.67 square meters). It is now capable of manufacturing 100,000 tons of lubricant annually and is reckoned to run at full capacity in 2017-2018, in which 140-150 job opportunities will be provided. The project is guessed to be able to manufacture 150,000-200,000 tons of the product by 2020.
