Hengyang Valin Steel Tube Co. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Hengsteel) is a subsidiary of Hunan Valin Iron & Steel Group Co., Ltd. It is a large-scale seamless steel tube & pipe manufacturer in the world and the second largest seamless steel tube & pipe manufacturer in China. Hengsteel was founded in 1958 and now has 5800 employees which include more than 2000 professional engineers, with total assets of RMB 11 billion.

Hengsteel always insists on its strategy of developing the Company by relying on science and technology. It always imports and absorbs advanced equipments and key technology in the seamless steel pipe production field, and the whole technical equipment level has reached the world lead position. There are five steel tube production lines named as 50 Plant, 89 Plant, 108 Plant, 340 Plant and 720 Plant. There are two tubing & casing processing lines mainly including threading, coupling and heat-treatment processing. There are two round billet production systems including one set of fully horizontal continuous casting line and one set of bow-type continuous casting line, and a 1000m3 blast iron making system. Hengsteel is capable of annually producing iron 700000 tons, steel 1300000 tons and pipe 1500000 tons, and a global seamless steel tube production enterprise with the most complete production mill, advanced machine type and complete product specification. 89 Plant MPM production line is the key project of “eighth five year plan” in China, and its main equipments were all imported from Germany; 340 Plant MPM production line is “two high and one good” project of “tenth five year plan” in China, and the whole equipments installation level is the most advanced one in the world; OCTG processing line covers heat-treatment, tubing end upsetting, threading & coupling process and supplies tubing and casing with high quality to customers in oil field; the main equipment of two sets of steelmaking systems were both brought in from Italy. Among them, the horizontal continuous casting round billet production system with 12 exclusive core technology items which tackled, researched and developed by Hengsteel has become the global level symbol project of horizontal continuous casting industrialization production, and which be honored as “the forerunner of horizontal continuous casting technology” and “a mark of China metallurgy industry”.
