Project Status:
Origin Energy announced in 2009 that it has entered into a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) in respect of Block 121, offshore Song Hong Basin, Vietnam. The Block 121 PSC was negotiated with the Vietnamese Government and was signed on 6 March 2009.
The company, which is the operator its 100-percent owned Block 121, said tendering for a 2D seismic survey in the permit area is underway and reprocessing of 3,900 kilometres (km) of existing seismic is being undertaken.
As of mid-2010, Origin has indicated that it has acquired 1,965km of 2D marine seismic data which is currently being processed. In addition, reprocessing of approximately 3,900km of existing 2D seismic data in the permit was completed and planning for the acquisition of a 3D survey is continuing.
On 27 October 2010, the operator said processing of the 2D seismic survey, acquired in May 2010, has been completed and interpretation commenced. Acquisition of a 3D seismic survey of around 1,100 sq km commenced in late September 2010 and is expected to be completed by end October or early November 2010.
Jul 2012 Pan Pacific Petroleum entered a farm-in agreement to earn a 15% stake.

Jul 2012 Origin is preparing to spud the Ca Voi prospect towards end 2012 or early 2013, subject to rig availability.(Topco)
