Project Status:

Total E&P Norge AS (Total) has been granted a consent to conduct exploration drilling in the North Sea with the mobile facility, West Phoenix.

The consent applies to drilling of appraisal well 30/4-D-1 AH on the Hilde field, which is part of production license 043 with Total as operator, and Petoro AS and StatoilHydro ASA as the other licensees.

Start-up time will be in July 2009. The activity on Hild is expected to last 196 days, including completion and flow of the well for ten days.

West Phoenix was granted by the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway's acknowledgement of compliance (AoC) in June 2008.

Aker Solutions has won a contract to conduct the basic engineering for the development of Total's Hild field in the Norwegian North Sea. The contract value is about NOK 215 million.

The work will be completed in the summer of 2012. Basic engineering work covers a greater level of detail than a normal FEED (Front-end, engineering and design) study for field developments.

The topside engineering will be done from Aker Solutions' head offices in Oslo, Norway, while the turret and mooring work will be conducted in Kristiansand, Norway. Aker Solutions has previously completed a pre-project/pre-basic engineering study for the field. The contract party for Aker Solutions is Aker Engineering & Technology AS.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has received the plan for development and operation (PDO) for the oil and gas discovery 30/7-6 Hild in the North Sea.

In total, NOK 25 billion will be invested in Hild.

The licensees want to develop the discovery with an integrated wellhead, living quarters and production facility with a lifetime of 30 years. The facility will be able to be remotely controlled from land (Stavanger via cable from Kollsnes), and the facility is scheduled to receive power from land.

The recovery strategy is to produce gas and condensate from Hild Øst and oil from Hild Olje first, without pressure support. Then, the oil reserves from the Frigg formation (Hild Sentral and Hild Vest) will be phased in and developed using gas lift.

Hild is scheduled to start production in 2016. (Topco)
