Oil and Gas Equipment Supply Chain Management Transformation - Paradigm Shift to China with Local Challenges and Global Implications

Beijing, 19 April 2012– Global oil and gas equipment supply chain has gone through a major transformation, with buying interest increasingly tipped to China, given its status of being an international manufacturing hub at the backdrop of the availability of cheap labor forces. The trend towards China is poised to speed up as cost efficiency becomes a primary concern amid today's harsh economic conditions. This trend is expected to continue and is evident in the strong presence of equipment providers and buyers at China Sourcing Summit On Petroleum Equipment (CSSOPE 2012), the choice networking and sourcing platform for industry.

The prominent event, concluded successfully on April 18, 2012 in Beijing, was attended by 191 delegates around the world and drawn an unprecedented interest from vendors, purchasers, sourcing specialists and logistic service providers. The event sees perennial participation by oil & gas and petrochemical giants such as BP, Shell, CNPC, CNOOC, Sinopec, YPF, Total, Fluor, Petrobras, Cameron, BASF etc.

In addition to the two days plenary meetings and panel discussions, the eventwas bustling with activities as industry professionals were getting involved in the co-current event such as China Sourcing Workshop, China Sourcing Lecture, China Sourcing Gala Reception and CSSOPE Exhibition, in which not only the purchasers learned how to remove technical and cultural hurdles to smooth out their way to China’s oil and gas equipment markets, but also the equipment suppliers and service providers found the project information and sourcing plans.Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the petroleum (oil and gas) equipment value chain, including sourcing and supply chain management skills as well as the trends of petroleum equipment industry.

CSSOPE 2012 was the sourcing ground for the oil and gas industry for the latest equipments and technologies for prospecting to production and share market insights, right in China, the oil hub of petroleum equipment.
